In this, the third instalment in the series, there is the same kind of disturbing case we’ve become accustomed to reading from Hunter. We care about the characters, and the performances of Lee Ingleby and Emma Cunniffe only serve to aid this. amazing First and foremost, I absolutely love the way Roxy Collins writes. The first novel, Close to Home, was published in 2017 and was followed by In the Dark in 2018 and No Way Out and All the Rage in 2019. 9 out of 5 Jane whisper was an English fiction writer who was more focused on. Set in Oxford, the four-book franchise follows a detective who investigates domestic tragedies and crimes. Beyond this, each instalment develops the characters of Fawley and his squad a little more. Cara Hunter’s DI Fawley novels have been optioned by Castlefield TV. They’re cleverly written to reveal aspects of the case and suspects little by little as the investigation unfolds, yet always leaving little twists and turns to be discovered throughout. I have been in love with Cara Hunter’s DI Fawley series since the first one, ‘Close To Home.’ While they often follow the familiar past and present format of so many of their genre, the storyline is far from predictable and will surprise even the most seasoned crime reader. ![]()
